We'd like to congratulate Mark & Chris on their successful charity ride, having cycled 1000 miles in 7 days to raise money for the Jenny Lind ward at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital.
Chris' son; James has received a large amount of treatment through the Jenny Lind so they wanted to give something back for the exemplary treatment James received.
Having cycled from Norwich to London, Paris, Luxembourg, Brussels, Amsterdam and back to Norwich, they covered 1000 miles, fully self-supported and seemed in good spirits, with (luckily for the two cycling enthusiasts) no injuries.
Chris also ran a set of Au Neon 55mm carbon wheels for the journey and had this to say:
"I'm even more impressed by our wheels now. This set have been my personal testbed since 2016 and have done thousands of miles without issue. Throwing them into doing 1000 miles in 7 days where they've had to contend with potholes, cobbles, curbs, gravel and even some singletrack woodland around Paris, while carrying a 90kg+ rider, bike and all the luggage should have worried me, but it didn't.
The wheels handled everything I threw at them and I've never ridden a better all round aero wheelset!"
We're proud of their efforts and in total Mark & Chris raised just over £3500 for the hospital to buy some much-needed breathing apparatus.
